AI Google Reports respond to the vines directly on the search results. This feature often eliminates the need to visit external websites, although it included references to some of the research research.
Google does not provide any comprehensive news of links in reports, leaving publishers a small official insight. Third -party tools offered this data, but many traders cannot afford to prices.
We will stay with the search console to indirectly reveal the links to the web in the reports. Here’s how.
Look for a console ‘position’
The “Performance” card of the console search searches for the URL of the site in organic search results. Each part (“element”) of search results (eg “people also ask”, the image of packages, overviews AI) count as one individual position.
Per Google:
The Google search page consists of many elements of search results. The “position” metric is an attempt to show approximately where the link was seen on the page, given the other results on the page…
Each element in the search results has occupied one position where it contains a single link or many different links or elements of the child.
For example, the URL in the image block at the top of the results will appear in position 1 in the performance section for this question. URL of competing addresses in the same image section for the same query would also prove position 1.
The search console shows highest URL position in search results. At the same time, the URL in the upper picture package and the fourth list of organic search would appear as position 1.
AI overview is one of these elements. All links in a single AI overview for a given query will be displayed in the search console as position 1. John Mueller Google confirmed this with alert: “I don’t know if AIO is always shown.”
Hénce identifying your URL addresses in AI reports begins with those in the top position.
Step 1: Create a filter
On the “Performance” tab, go down to “Questions” and create a filter where you are located, where your site is placed in position 1:
- Click the “Filter” icon to the highest right list of queries.
- Select “Positions”.
- In the filter settings, select “smaller than” and enter “2.”
- Click “Done”.
Your message is now filtered for search queries where your site will be placed under position 2. This will include average positions – eg a hobby that appears in AI on your mobile, but not on the desktop, will have an average location of slightly more than 1.

In the search consoles, filter “Cores” from “Less than 2nd” Click the image to enlarge.
Step 2: Bold results by clicking
Clicks in AI reports are much lower than traditional organic extracts. Sorting the above message “CTR” isolated questions with low clicks, which makes them good candidates for AI overview.
You want to build, double click the “CTR” header.
Click on any question in this list also shows when the AI report overview likely He began to quote your URL address: when the average position increased and CTR dropped.

Compare the message of the click to see how the average position has increased and CTR dropped. Click the image to enlarge.
This exercise does not provide the overall performance of the website in AI reports, but it is the only free method I know. Helps evaluate the impact of AI overviews on the visibility of your site in search results and identify the URLs better optimized for controlled A. responses
